Mato Grosso do Sul: School transport audit and child labor prevention efforts
In Mato Grosso do Sul, several administrative and oversight actions are underway. The State Court of Accounts (TCE-MS) is conducting a scheduled compliance audit of school transportation services in the municipality of Bonito from August 17 to 21. This routine inspection, coordinated by Auditor Daniel Vilela da Costa, involves multiple agencies including the Public Ministry and Federal Highway Police to ensure service quality and regulatory adherence.
In Campo Grande, the Municipal Secretariat of Social Assistance and Citizenship (SAS), in partnership with the Labor Public Ministry, held training sessions to strengthen the protection network against child labor. This initiative includes the “Infância sem Correntes” campaign and aims to reactivate the Municipal Committee for the Confrontation and Eradication of Child Labor.
Other regional developments include the Mato Grosso Court of Accounts (TCE-MT) introducing a new model for monitoring partnerships with civil society organizations and suspending a car raffle in Rondonópolis due to suspected misappropriation of health funds. Additionally, the Mato Grosso do Sul Court of Justice (TJMS) has been ranked 5th nationally in the Sustainability Performance Index by the National Council of Justice.
