Administrative and social initiatives in Mato Grosso do Sul

Municipalities and judicial institutions in Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil, continue to implement various administrative and social measures.

In Dourados, the city established the Institutional Public Power Group (GIPP) to coordinate social housing projects through the integration of municipal secretariats and state security and health institutions. Meanwhile, Eldorado introduced temporary austerity measures, including reduced work hours and the suspension of certain bonuses, to balance the municipal budget.

Efforts to protect minors have expanded. The Municipal Secretariat of Social Assistance and Citizenship, alongside the Labor Public Prosecutor's Office, launched the ‘Infância sem Correntes’ (Childhood without Chains) campaign to combat child labor. Administrative oversight and institutional performance have also seen recent developments. The Court of Accounts of Mato Grosso do Sul (TCE-MS) is conducting a scheduled compliance audit of school transportation services in Bonito to evaluate service quality and regulatory adherence. This routine inspection, coordinated by Auditor Daniel Vilela da Costa, involves multiple agencies including the Public Ministry and Federal Highway Police. Furthermore, the Court of Justice of Mato Grosso do Sul (TJMS) rose to 5th place nationally in the National Council of Justice (CNJ) Sustainability Performance Index, moving up from 26th place in previous cycles due to advancements in socio-environmental responsibility.
