Mato Grosso family farming project offers up to R$ 3 million in support
Family farming associations and cooperatives in Mato Grosso have until October 26 to register for the MT Produtivo – Development and Sustainability project. Coordinated by the State Secretariat of Family Agriculture (Seaf) in partnership with the World Bank, the initiative aims to strengthen rural organizations, increase production, and improve family income.
The project offers technical guidance for business plans and provides non-reimbursable resources through two main modalities. The Commercial modality, designed for established organizations, offers up to R$ 3 million per project. The Emerging modality, intended for groups with potential to expand and market surplus production, provides up to R$ 1.1 million per proposal.
To date, 187 productive organizations have registered in the system, with 102 currently completing diagnostic and proposal forms. The program aims to select at least 128 rural enterprises across 61 municipalities. The initiative covers eight productive chains, including dairy, fruit, vegetables, cassava, coffee, cocoa, apiculture, and meliponiculture.
