Brazil police bust multi‑state drug cartel in Operation Fluxo Oculto

The Federal Police and state investigators in Brazil executed Operation Fluxo Oculto, carrying out 90 judicial orders across the states of Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul and Rio de Janeiro. The operation resulted in 13 arrests, 19 search and seizure warrants and 58 additional judicial measures. Investigators targeted three senior leaders of a criminal faction that coordinates drug trafficking and a sophisticated money‑laundering scheme. Assets worth about R$ 9.3 million were frozen, and a supermarket in Cláudia was identified as a front for converting illicit proceeds into legitimate cash flow. The investigation, led by the Draco unit in Sinop, traced drug‑derived revenues from Mato Grosso to Rio de Janeiro, uncovering a network that used formally registered companies to mask illegal earnings. Overall, 31 individuals and two legal entities are under inquiry, with the operation building on earlier phases that seized large cocaine shipments and seized further assets in 2025‑2026.
