Mato Grosso hires 150 temporary fire‑brigade workers for wildfire season
The Corpo de Bombeiros Militar de Mato Grosso (CBMMT) opened applications for 150 temporary brigadista positions to reinforce wildfire prevention and fighting during the dry season. Applications close on Saturday 20 June. The vacancies cover 29 municipalities, including Cuiabá, Poconé, Gaúcha do Norte, Alto Paraguai, Feliz Natal, Nova Maringá and others. Candidates must be literate, aged 18‑50, and possess basic agricultural tool handling skills; holders of a D or E driver’s licence receive extra points. The contract lasts four months with a 12‑hour work shift followed by 36 hours of rest and a salary of R$ 2,600 plus proportional vacation and 13th‑month pay. Selection consists of a curricular evaluation and a physical‑ability test that includes a 2.4 km walk while carrying a loaded fire‑pump. Successful applicants will attend a brigadista training course before deployment to the assigned municipalities.
