Mato Grosso firefighting operations contain ethanol plant blaze and municipal fair fire

A large fire broke out at the Inpasa ethanol plant in Sinop, Mato Grosso, early on Tuesday morning. Flames engulfed the storage area of the facility, prompting a task force of the Military Fire Brigade and company brigades to work through the night to contain the blaze and protect critical sections of the plant. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Earlier in the week, a short‑circuit ignited a fire at the municipal fair in Juína, Mato Grosso. The Military Fire Brigade responded around 03:30 h, quickly suppressing the flames before they could spread to the wooden stalls. The incident caused no injuries and was contained without material loss beyond the affected electrical fittings. Both events highlight the region's focus on rapid emergency response to fire hazards.
