Mato Grosso fuel prices show volatility with rising diesel and ethanol costs

Fuel prices in Mato Grosso have shown significant fluctuations. According to the Edenred Ticket Log Price Index (IPTL), the state recorded the highest gasoline prices in the Center-West region during August, averaging R$ 6.94. Conversely, Mato Grosso offered the cheapest ethanol in the region at R$ 3.91.

However, recent reports from Cuiabá indicate a sharp rise in specific fuel costs. Diesel S-10 has reached R$ 7.69 per liter, a 12.8% increase compared to previous ANP averages. Ethanol prices in the capital have also risen to R$ 4.19, while common gasoline remains relatively stable near R$ 6.99. The spike in diesel prices is noted for its potential to increase freight costs and impact food prices.
