Mato Grosso government invests R$344 million in Querência roads, school and hospital

The state government of Mato Grosso has allocated R$343.7 million over the past seven and a half years to a range of projects in the municipality of Querência. Major road works include the paving of almost 180 km of roads, with the largest single investment of R$104.4 million for 53.6 km on highways MT‑109 and MT‑110, plus additional sections on MT‑243 and other rural roads. The programme also covered the construction of three concrete bridges, a new municipal hospital built under a R$4.4 million state‑municipal agreement, and the purchase of ambulances.

In education, the government delivered a new school building – Escola Estadual 20 de Março – at a cost of R$9.2 million. The facility can host 560 students per shift and includes 16 classrooms, a cafeteria and a sports court. Governor Otaviano Pivetta said, “Não existe desenvolvimento sem educação de qualidade,” emphasizing the link between infrastructure and development. Additional support included 13 school buses, 1,434 Chromebooks, 50 free houses for vulnerable families, and basic‑needs packages such as food baskets and blankets.
