Mato Grosso Governor Pivetta Showcases Public School Upgrades

Since 2019, the Mato Grosso state government has invested heavily in public‑school infrastructure, adding climate‑controlled classrooms, equipped laboratories, internet access, Chromebooks, Smart TVs and modern dining facilities. Governor Otaviano Pivetta says these upgrades helped the state’s IDEB score jump from 22nd to 8th nationally.

Student Emily Rhyany Santana Gomes, who transferred from a private school, describes the new environment as “much larger, with heated rooms, a modern cafeteria and technology that helps learning.” Another student, Ysis Daffiny Ramos Fagundes, notes how the former building’s cramped, dilapidated conditions have been replaced by spacious, well‑equipped spaces, improving daily school life for thousands of pupils in Cuiabá’s Escola Estadual Cívico‑Militar Leovegildo de Melo.
