Mato Grosso health officials promote Pink October cancer prevention

The Mato Grosso State Health Secretariat (SES-MT) is promoting the ‘Pink October’ campaign to encourage women in the state to seek early diagnosis and prevention for breast and cervical cancer. Health Secretary Juliano Melo noted that early detection can lead to cure rates exceeding 90% for these diseases.

Health units in Mato Grosso have performed 18,567 mammographies between January and July of this year. Additionally, the Santa Casa State Hospital reported performing thousands of gynecological and mastology consultations, alongside nearly 2,000 bilateral mammographies between January and September.
