Mato Grosso launches ‘Rota da Carne’ gastronomic initiative

The ‘Rota da Carne’ (Meat Route) initiative is connecting various culinary centers across Mato Grosso through a gastronomic map. Organized by the Instituto Mato-grossense da Carne (Imac) as part of ‘Meat Month’, the program features 28 participating restaurants across several cities, including Cuiabá, Várzea Grande, Poconé, Nobres, Rondonópolis, Lucas do Rio Verde, Primavera do Leste, and Sinop.

Running until October 31, the initiative offers diverse beef-based dishes starting at R$ 38. The menu aims to showcase the versatility of local beef beyond traditional barbecue, featuring items such as ossobuco ragu, smoked cupim risotto, and specialized cuts like the ‘MT Steak’. According to Imac executive director Paula Sodré Queiroz, the goal is to use gastronomy to bring consumers closer to the beef produced within the state.
