Mato Grosso Fire Department celebrates social projects and environmental awareness

The Military Fire Department of Mato Grosso (CBMMT) has highlighted several social and educational initiatives aimed at youth development and environmental protection. In Santo Antônio de Leverger, the 1st Military Fire Battalion awarded 15 students for their participation in a drawing and essay contest themed “Pantanal Vivo. Futuro Protegido. Juntos contra as Queimadas.” The competition engaged over 400 municipal students in learning about the impacts of wildfires and the importance of preserving the Pantanal ecosystem.

Additionally, the CBMMT celebrated the graduation of 280 children from the “Bombeiros do Futuro” (Firefighters of the Future) social project across seven municipalities in the western region of the state. The project, which provides training in first aid, accident prevention, and citizenship, is approaching its 20th anniversary. Over its two decades, the program has recorded more than 250,000 service instances involving over 16,000 children and adolescents.
