Bombeiros do Futuro social projects in Brazil

Overview

The Bombeiros do Futuro (Future Firefighters) social project in Mato Grosso, Brazil, has conducted various educational and environmental initiatives for children. In Cuiabá, the program implemented drug prevention workshops using interactive storytelling to teach children how to recognize risks and identify trusted adults. Concurrently, in Alta Floresta, the project engaged children in environmental education through tree-planting activities in a Permanent Preservation Area.

Expanding on these efforts, the Mato Grosso Military Fire Department (CBMMT) recognized students in Santo Antônio de Leverger for participating in a contest regarding the preservation of the Pantanal ecosystem and the impacts of wildfires. The CBMMT also celebrated the graduation of 280 children from the Bombeiros do Futuro project across seven municipalities. Approaching its 20th anniversary, the program has provided training in first aid, accident prevention, and citizenship to over 16,000 children and adolescents.
