Mato Grosso supplies 57% of Brazil's corn exports in 2024/25 season
Mato Grosso exported 24.35 million tonnes of corn in the 2024/25 harvest, representing 57.48% of all Brazilian corn shipped abroad. Nationally, exports reached 42.38 million tonnes, an 11.88% rise over the previous season. The state's main buyers were Egypt (5.43 Mt, up 40.37%), Iran (3.10 Mt) and Vietnam (2.76 Mt), together accounting for 46.4% of Mato Grosso's shipments. Overall export volumes grew 2.34% for the state and 25.44% year‑on‑year for the Egypt market. With the current season closed, analysts expect the 2025/26 cycle to pick up as planting progresses, hinging on production levels, international prices and transport conditions.
