Matsudo and Kofu host summer craft beer festivals in Japan

The Matsudo Craft Beer Festival "BEER SUMMER WEEK" opened on 17 July at the Matsudo Station west‑exit pedestrian deck in Chiba Prefecture. The event runs daily until 26 July, offering a range of craft beers from breweries across Japan, food stalls, a night‑time lounge and cash‑less payment only. Visitors including commuters, families and groups have been reported to line up for the festival’s specialty cups and drinks.

Meanwhile, the Kofu Beer Fest 2026 will take place from 24 July to 2 August on the north‑side square of Kofu Station in Yamanashi Prefecture. Sixteen breweries – eleven from Yamanashi and five from Osaka, Saitama and Shizuoka – will showcase their local brews alongside food vendors, live music each day and options to purchase or rent tasting glasses. The festival also offers discounted trial tickets and special student and kimono discounts.

Both festivals highlight Japan’s growing regional craft‑beer culture and aim to attract locals and tourists during the summer season.
