Japan authorities arrest multiple drivers for drunk driving and dangerous offenses

Multiple incidents involving traffic violations and drunk driving have been reported across Japan. In Fukuoka Prefecture, three individuals were arrested between August 9 and 10 for driving under the influence. This included a 38-year-old man arrested after a collision in Kasuya Town, who claimed he did not realize he was still intoxicated despite consuming significant amounts of alcohol.

In Toyama Prefecture, a man was arrested for dangerous driving causing death following a collision with a 78-year-old pedestrian in Toyama City. This marks the first application of the revised Automobile Driver Punishment Act in the prefecture, which implements stricter standards for dangerous driving based on specific blood alcohol concentrations.

Additionally, in Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, a 19-year-old male was re-arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving causing injury and driving without a license following a hit-and-run incident involving three vehicles.
