Matt Dinniman Announces New ‘Dungeon Crawler Carl’ Book and Live‑Action Casting

Author Matt Dinniman spoke at LitRPG Con in Denver about the upcoming ninth installment of his "Dungeon Crawler Carl" series, tentatively titled "The Beautiful Place." The series, which began as a self‑published novel in 2019, has sold more than 10 million copies and is known for its blend of humor, fantasy, and LitRPG storytelling.

Dinniman also addressed the series' expansion into other media. Peacock has ordered a live‑action adaptation, and the author announced that Jeff Hays, longtime audiobook narrator, will voice the character Princess Donut in the show. Dinniman said the casting reflects the creators’ commitment to listening to fan feedback and staying true to the source material. The audiobooks, featuring over 200 distinct voices, have been a major part of the franchise’s popularity.
