Mattel and McFarlane Toys announce new DC Comics action figure lines

Mattel is launching its DC Comics Core Collection, a new line of 6.5-inch scale action figures. This collection follows the conclusion of the DC Multiverse line as Mattel takes over the DC license from McFarlane Toys. The initial wave includes Batman, Robin, The Joker, and The Flash, designed with 22 points of articulation and fabric elements. While the current focus is on kid-friendly figures, Mattel has indicated that more collector-oriented releases are planned for 2027.

Simultaneously, McFarlane Toys is releasing the final wave of its DC Super Powers line through an exclusive partnership with Entertainment Earth. Scheduled for pre-order on September 3rd, this wave features 4.5-inch scale retro-style figures, including Harley Quinn, Superman (Red and Blue versions), Red Tornado, Batman, and Batgirl. These figures utilize classic blister card packaging to emulate the 1980s aesthetic.
