Mattel launches 1:1 scale buildable original Xbox replica

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Xbox, Mattel Brick Shop is releasing a 1:1 scale buildable replica of the original Xbox console. The set consists of 3,509 pieces and includes a buildable version of the iconic Duke controller.

Designed for adult collectors, the model features interactive elements where pressing buttons on the Duke controller triggers light and sound sequences. The interior of the console houses three removable miniature dioramas inspired by classic titles: ‘Halo: Combat Evolved’, ‘The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind’, and ‘Psychonauts’. The set also includes 12 NanoWorld figurines.

Pre-orders for the kit are available through retailers such as Amazon and Best Buy, with a suggested retail price of approximately $329.99. Additionally, Microsoft and IKEA have announced a collaboration to create Xbox-themed home decor, including items like directional pad cushions and analog stick stools, which are expected to be showcased at Gamescom 2026. A limited edition transparent green Xbox Series X25 console is also rumored for a late November release.
