Mattel expands Masters of the Universe franchise with new video games

Mattel is expanding its “Masters of the Universe” franchise into the digital gaming space with two new releases. Mattel Game Studios, in partnership with developer Twin Atlas, has launched “Masters of the Universe: Battle for Grayskull” on Roblox. This faction-based action role-playing game allows players to choose between He-Man and the Heroic Warriors or Skeletor and the Evil Warriors to battle for control of Castle Grayskull. The game features locations such as Snake Mountain and Subternia, offering quests, boss battles, and a skill tree for character progression.

Additionally, Mattel has opened pre-orders for a retro-style 2D brawler titled “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction.” Developed by Mattel, Bitmap Bureau, and Clear River Games, the title is scheduled for release on February 4, 2027. It will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S and X, featuring art inspired by the 1980s animated series.
