Mattel reports 10% Q2 sales rise driven by Hot Wheels and Masters of the Universe film

Mattel announced that net sales reached $1.13 billion in the second quarter, a 10% year‑over‑year increase, with North American sales up 12% and international sales up 9%. Chairman and CEO Ynon Kreiz said the growth was powered by strong demand from adult collectors and kids, highlighting a 14% rise in Hot Wheels gross billings and the success of the Masters of the Universe movie, which was the most‑watched film on Amazon Prime Video globally in its first week. The company expects the Hot Wheels brand to deliver a ninth consecutive record year and sees further upside from its expanding toy‑based film slate, including the upcoming Matchbox movie on Apple TV.

Kreiz added that Mattel’s multi‑year strategy to grow IP‑driven play and family entertainment is on track, with investments in mobile games, building sets, trading cards and direct‑to‑consumer channels expected to generate high returns and support continued growth through the full year.
