Céline Dion honored with Barbie Signature doll inspired by 1998 Oscars look
Mattel has announced a new collectible Barbie Signature doll honoring Canadian singer Céline Dion. The doll is inspired by her iconic 1998 Academy Awards performance, where she sang ‘My Heart Will Go On’ from the film Titanic.
The collectible features a navy blue, long-sleeved gown designed by Michael Kors and a necklace inspired by the fictional ‘Heart of the Ocean’ diamond from the movie. The doll includes a custom facial sculpt and a hairstyle matching Dion’s original look from the ceremony.
Dion expressed that it is ‘a true honour to join the Barbie legacy’ and hopes the doll inspires others to follow their dreams and believe in their own voices. The release coincides with her recent return to the stage in Paris following her diagnosis with stiff-person syndrome in 2022. The doll is priced at approximately $60 and is available through Mattel Creations.
