Matteo Cecchetti earns UEFA Pro coaching license at Coverciano

Matteo Cecchetti, the current head coach of the San Marino Under-21 national team, has successfully completed the UEFA Pro course at Coverciano. This certification is the highest coaching qualification available, allowing individuals to manage teams at any professional level.

The training program, which began in September 2025, included theoretical and practical lessons at the Federal Technical Center of Coverciano, supplemented by internships at several prominent clubs including Como, Milan, Cagliari, Genoa, and Racing Santander in Spain. Cecchetti completed the course alongside notable figures such as Franck Ribery, Samir Handanovic, Alessandro Diamanti, and Vikash Dhorasoo.

For his final thesis, titled ‘Sfidare l’impossibile’ (Challenging the Impossible), Cecchetti analyzed the evolution and development of football in San Marino, highlighting recent milestones such as the national team's promotion to League C of the Nations League.
