Mauá launches lecture series to prevent violence against women

The Mauá Secretariat of Public Policies for Women has launched a series of lectures across various neighborhoods to prevent violence against women. The initiative focuses on disseminating information regarding different types of violence, legal rights, and available municipal services.

The current schedule prioritizes state schools, including Escola Estadual Jardim Zaíra VI, EE Professora Irene da Silva Costa, EE Dona Marcelina Oliveira, EE Hans Grudzinski, and EE Clodoaldo Portugal Caribe. These sessions aim to educate students, parents, and professionals on how to identify and mitigate domestic violence and rights violations.

According to Secretary Cida Maia, many women experience situations such as threats, humiliation, or excessive control without recognizing them as violence. The program integrates municipal policies including the Rede Viva Maria and the Patrulha Maria da Penha to provide prevention, support, and protection.
