Chilean regions hold summits on economic growth and innovation
Various regional initiatives in Chile are addressing economic development, employment, and infrastructure. In the Maule Region, the Encuentro de Empresas del Maule (EDEM 2026) brought together business leaders, academics, and public authorities in Curicó. The forum focused on leveraging artificial intelligence, technological innovation, and investment to boost regional productivity and address unemployment.
Other regional efforts include the creation of a construction employment table in Valparaíso to combat local unemployment, and a COMEX meeting in Maule to strengthen international trade and agro-food chains. In Biobío, Sercotec and the Universidad Santo Tomás held a certification ceremony to strengthen local cooperatives. Additionally, the Los Lagos Region celebrated the certification of 30 circular economy ventures supported by the Regional Government.
Urban and social issues are also being addressed through the Mesa Ciudades in Maule, focusing on sustainable urban development and mobility, and security meetings in Chillán to coordinate neighborhood prevention efforts. In the Maipo Province, technical tables were held to evaluate electrical service quality and infrastructure security.
