Chilean digital infrastructure and innovation initiatives

In late September 2026, efforts to integrate technology and digital infrastructure into the Chilean economy were highlighted through various summits.

InvestChile participated in the DCD Connect LATAM summit in Mexico to promote the country as a destination for data center projects and digital infrastructure development, focusing on sustainability and artificial intelligence capacity requirements.

Concurrently, the Maule Region held the EDEM 2026 business meeting in Curicó. This regional summit brought together entrepreneurs, academics, and public authorities to discuss how innovation, artificial intelligence, and agro-industrial advancements could drive productivity and job creation in sectors like agriculture, commerce, and tourism. Regional leaders emphasized the need for local leadership to drive investment and employment across the region’s communes.

Other regional initiatives focused on economic development and social stability. In Valparaíso, a construction employment table was established to combat unemployment, while in Biobío, Sercotec and Universidad Santo Tomás held a ceremony to strengthen local cooperatives. The Los Lagos Region certified 30 circular economy ventures supported by the Regional Government.

Infrastructure and urban planning also remained key priorities. The Mesa Ciudades in Maule focused on sustainable urban development and mobility, while technical tables in Maipo Province evaluated electrical service quality and infrastructure security. Additionally, security meetings were held in Chillán to coordinate neighborhood prevention efforts, and a COMEX meeting in Maule aimed to strengthen international trade and agro-food chains.
