Mauritius Launches Solar PV Grant as India Records 50,000 Rooftop Connections

The Development Bank of Mauritius will administer a Household Rooftop Solar Photovoltaic Grant Scheme, covering up to 25 % of the cost of a solar PV system (capped at Rs 75,000) and funded with Rs 270 million from the Climate Sustainability Fund. The program, announced for launch on 25 July 2026, aims to accelerate residential solar adoption in Mauritius.

In Andhra Pradesh, India, the Andhra Pradesh Central Power Distribution Corporation Limited reported that 50,114 rooftop solar installations totalling 180 MW have been connected to the grid under the PM Surya Ghar scheme. The milestone, achieved within a year, reflects the state’s push to expand clean‑energy use and reduce household electricity bills.
