Rooftop solar adoption initiatives in India and Mauritius

In late July 2026, Mauritius announced a new Household Rooftop Solar Photovoltaic Grant Scheme, funded with Rs 270 million to cover up to 25 % of system costs for residents. The program was presented alongside a note that India’s Andhra Pradesh state had recently connected more than 50,000 rooftop solar installations, totalling 180 MW, under the PM Surya Ghar scheme.
