Max Pechstein Retrospective Opens at Palazzo Zabarella in Padua

The first large‑scale Italian retrospective of Max Pechstein, a leading member of the early‑20th‑century German avant‑garde group Die Brücke, opened at Palazzo Zabarella in Padua. Running from 24 October 2026 to 14 March 2027, the exhibition presents over 120 works—including oil paintings, watercolors, drawings, prints, photographs and archival material—sourced from major international museums and private collections. It traces Pechstein’s artistic development from his Dresden origins in 1905 through his later seascapes and Southern‑sea landscapes, highlighting his effort to reconnect humanity with nature.
