Leclerc leads practice sessions at United States Grand Prix

Charles Leclerc dominated the opening practice sessions for the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. The Ferrari driver set the fastest times in both Friday sessions, including a 1:35.291 in the second practice, narrowly beating Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli by 0.042 seconds.

Antonelli, the championship leader, remains in a position to potentially secure the world title this weekend. To do so, he must win the race while his main rivals, George Russell and Lewis Hamilton, finish ninth and fifth, respectively. Max Verstappen finished third in the second practice, continuing his strong form following recent victories.

Other notable developments include penalties for Gabriel Bortoleto and Franco Colapinto due to power unit component changes. Additionally, the FIA announced adjustments to track limits at several corners following numerous lap time deletions during the sessions. Max Verstappen expressed significant concerns regarding the track surface, describing the extreme bumps at the circuit as "unacceptable."
