Max Verstappen dismisses team‑switch rumors, focuses on Silverstone challenges
Red Bull driver Max Verstappen said he will not comment on any market speculation about a move away from the team, stating that if anything changes “you will hear it from me”. He made the remarks after finishing second at the Austrian Grand Prix, calling the weekend a positive step for Red Bull.
Verstappen also criticised the layout of the Silverstone circuit, saying its long high‑speed sections expose the limits of the current power‑unit regulations and could hinder performance. He noted recent aerodynamic improvements to the RB22 but warned that the car’s competitiveness still depends on circuit characteristics and rivals’ upgrades. The Dutch driver added that the FIA should tighten protocols after a single‑yellow‑flag incident in Austria, which he felt should have been a double or red flag.
Overall, Verstappen expressed optimism about the progress made in Austria but remained uncertain about his chances of winning at Silverstone, emphasizing a focus on further development rather than speculation about a new team.
