Zandvoort prepares for final Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix

The Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix returns to Zandvoort for its final scheduled appearance before the circuit exits the F1 calendar after 2026 due to financial constraints. The upcoming event features a unique Sprint race format, which will present technical challenges for teams due to limited practice time and new 2026 car regulations.

Max Verstappen, the four-time world champion, is preparing for his final home race with a special ‘Timeless’ helmet design inspired by traditional Dutch Delft Blue pottery. Verstappen has expressed a desire to enjoy the weekend with his supporters, the ‘Orange Army’, and noted that while F1 is leaving, he intends to continue racing at the track in other series.

To accommodate the massive influx of fans, the Dutch railway operator NS is significantly expanding its services, including five extra early trains for the Saturday sprint race and trains running every five minutes between Amsterdam and Zandvoort. Adding a royal touch to the finale, King Willem-Alexander is expected to attend in an official capacity to present the winner's trophy on the podium.
