World champion Max Verstappen announced that his newly formed Verstappen Racing team has signed 15‑year‑old Belgian driver Dries van Langendonck. Van Langendonck, a member of McLaren’s junior programme, is the current leader of the British Formula 4 championship after winning two races at Zandvoort.
Verstappen Racing will provide the teenager with additional support, mentorship and access to professional simulators as he progresses through the junior categories. The partnership marks Verstappen’s first venture into driver development, with the Dutch champion saying he is impressed by the youngster’s talent and wants to help him reach Formula 1. Van Langendonck expressed gratitude for the opportunity to learn from a four‑time world champion and the professional management team behind Verstappen Racing.
