Maximo Kirchner rallies supporters in Buenos Aires demanding Cristina Fernández's release

In Buenos Aires' Parque Lezama, Maximo Kirchner, leader of La Cámpora, delivered a fiery speech urging the release of former president Cristina Fernández de Kirchner and warning against internal dissent within the peronist coalition. He criticized factions he said were undermining party unity and stressed the need for a clear electoral project ahead of the 2027 presidential elections. After the event, thousands of participants spontaneously marched to the San José 1111 residence, chanting “Cristina presidenta” in a show of support.

Kirchner’s remarks included a warning: “Es uno de los puntos centrales respecto de cómo construir la unidad en Argentina; no sea que lleguemos otra vez al gobierno y alguien se coma los mocos…”. The rally highlighted the ongoing tension between Kirchner’s faction and rival party leaders as they vie for influence in the upcoming election cycle.
