Mayacorptrips accused of fraud against youth soccer players

Parents of the Yucatán B youth soccer team have filed a complaint with the Quintana Roo State Attorney General's Office against the travel agency Mayacorptrips. The agency is accused of irregularities regarding flight and lodging arrangements that prevented 12 of the 18 children selected for a national championship in Tijuana from attending.

According to the families, the delegation was originally scheduled to depart from Mérida on October 21. They received a last-minute change directing them to depart from Cancún on October 22 instead. Upon arriving at the airport, families were initially told flights were canceled due to overbooking, only to later receive boarding passes that were ultimately invalid. Parents claim that when they approached the counters, they discovered their reservations had been canceled by the agency.

The complainants identified Mayra Sánchez Altamirano as the owner of Mayacorptrips. They allege that while she appeared at the airport to provide information regarding supposed flights and accommodations, the documentation did not correspond to confirmed services. Only six players successfully reached Tijuana, and even they reportedly faced issues with included lodging and transportation services.
