Mayawati accuses Akhilesh Yadav's SP of changing PDA formula to woo Brahmins

BSP leader Mayawati launched a sharp attack on Uttar Pradesh's Samajwadi Party (SP) after chief Akhilesh Yadav re‑interpreted the party's PDA formula. Yadav said the "P" in PDA (originally "Pichhde" for backward) now also stands for "Pandit", a move Mayawati said was intended to attract Brahmin voters. She posted on X that the SP "keeps changing colours like a chameleon" and pursues "narrow casteist politics" for electoral gain. Yadav made the comment at a Brahmin Sammelan in Lucknow and also accused the BJP government of targeting Brahmins. Mayawati urged voters across communities to remain cautious of the SP's tactics.
