Mayor Carmen Lilia Canturosas invests ~10 M pesos in Nuevo Laredo school upgrades
Mayor of Nuevo Laredo, Carmen Lilia Canturosas, inaugurated a series of school‑infrastructure projects funded with nearly 10 million pesos. The works include a metal roof for the Jardín de Niños Niños Héroes de Chapultepec (3.47 M pesos), a perimeter fence and roof for Secondary School No. 7 Emiliano Zapata (617 k pesos), and reconstruction of a collapsed roof at Primary School Cuauhtémoc (682 k pesos).
Additional upgrades were delivered at the Jardín de Niños Profesora Irma Concepción Roa and Primary School Dora Gallegos Escalante, financed with more than 6.3 M pesos. The projects added a 1.16 M‑peso fence with disabled‑access ramp for 299 students, and a 5.15 M‑peso comprehensive rehab of roofs, walls, floors and security features. The mayor highlighted the initiatives as part of a broader municipal strategy to improve safety, functionality and dignity of educational spaces for the city’s children.
