Mayor Şeniz Doğan unveils new sports centres and backs press freedom in Merkezefendi

Mayor Şeniz Doğan of Merkezefendi district met with local journalists, emphasising the municipality’s commitment to press freedom and the role of media as a bridge between the public and the state. He thanked reporters for their work and pledged continued support for journalists' rights.

Doğan also announced two major sports projects: a Basketball Development Centre in the Bereketler neighbourhood and a Youth Park Sports Complex attached to the Merkezefendi Cultural Centre, featuring basketball, football, volleyball, beach volleyball, an amphitheatre, cafés and tennis courts. Construction of the basketball centre has already begun and the municipality aims to complete both facilities soon, enhancing recreational infrastructure for residents.
