Concordia Mayor Francisco Azcué Announces $15 Million Municipal Investment Plan

Mayor Francisco Azcué of Concordia issued a public letter defending his administration’s shift from politicised patronage to service‑oriented governance. He highlighted reforms that cut fuel consumption, reduced staff numbers and introduced a digital procurement system to curb wasteful spending.

Azcué announced a historic infrastructure and development plan funded with approximately 15 million USD of municipal own resources, slated for completion by 2026. The plan targets long‑standing deficits in water, sewage, streets and public lighting, aiming to improve living conditions in the city’s most vulnerable neighbourhoods.

The mayor stressed that the municipality will no longer operate as a vehicle for political privileges, emphasizing transparency, efficiency and direct investment in basic services for residents.
