Tamaulipas expands tourism with senior trips and provider training
The Tamaulipas state government, through the Secretaría de Turismo and the DIF, sent 55 senior citizens from Ciudad Victoria on a free visit to the religious‑tourist site El Chorrito in Hidalgo. Secretary of Tourism Benjamín Hernández Rodríguez said, “This trip not only let them enjoy a day of faith, nature and recreation, but also confirms the state’s commitment to guarantee that all Tamaulipas families can experience our tourist treasures.”
In parallel, the same Secretariat launched a tourism‑competitiveness program that delivered 76 courses to 6,018 tourism workers across the state’s key municipalities. The program, described by Secretary Hernández Rodríguez as “a pillar to strengthen the competitiveness of Tamaulipas,” covered safety, environmental stewardship, and health regulations, aiming to raise service quality for local, national and foreign visitors.
