Mayor Leo Bezerra awards 240 apartments to families in João Pessoa housing project

On Friday, Mayor Leo Bezerra of João Pessoa conducted a lottery for 240 apartments in the Residencial Rio Jaguaribe development, intended to provide homes for roughly 800 residents of the Jardim Veneza neighbourhood. The ceremony took place at the Centro Cultural Tenente Lucena in Mangabeira and is part of the municipal administration’s broader housing programme, which also includes initiatives such as Cuidar do Lar and Compra Assistida.

The selected families will receive units that feature full infrastructure, including nearby schools, health services and public transport, with the ground floor reserved for seniors and people with disabilities. Municipal Housing Secretary Socorro Gadelha said the project “includes complete infrastructure,” and the housing department will proceed with inspections, contract signing and final delivery. Beneficiaries expressed gratitude, noting the opportunity to obtain dignified housing.
