Mayor Leo Bezerra opens new Valentina park and revamps Largo da Gameleira in João Pessoa

Mayor Leo Bezerra inaugurated the Parque Linear II in the Valentina Figueiredo neighbourhood of João Pessoa on 15 April. The 11,584 m² public space includes a plaza, sand court, cycling track, multi‑use area, senior‑citizen gym, accessible facilities, playground, pet area, LED lighting and parking. The opening marked the first 100 days of Bezerra’s administration and highlighted ongoing municipal investments, with more than R$ 66 million already spent on roads, schools and housing in the area. The mayor said, “The population of João Pessoa deserves to be heard beyond promises, and we turn those demands into concrete results.”

On 16 April the mayor also signed the order to begin the requalification of Largo da Gameleira in Tambaú. The R$ 3.1 million project will transform the historic square into a tourist hub, adding a wooden‑deck mirante, an Instagram‑ready sign, ornamental metal pórticos, accessible restrooms, bike‑rack, playgrounds and LED‑decorated lighting across 6,512 m². The work will be carried out in three phases and is slated for completion before the summer season. The initiative is part of a broader R$ 16 million investment in the Tambaú district aimed at boosting tourism and improving urban mobility.
