Mayor Leo Bezerra expands social, education and health services in João Pessoa

Mayor Leo Bezerra of João Pessoa announced the delivery of 20 sewing kits and an agricultural tractor, funded through a federal parliamentary amendment, to strengthen vocational training and family farming for hundreds of residents.

He inspected the construction of the Ninho do Saber Vista Alegre early childhood center, resuming work on twelve previously stalled school facilities and targeting completion in 2027 to add 200 new kindergarten places.

Bezerra also launched the 2026 cycle of the “Você Prefeito” participatory program, scheduling a series of community hearings across all fourteen city districts to collect and act on residents’ demands.

In health, the mayor visited a family health unit equipped with a new “Sala do Coração,” a cardiac care room with electrocardiogram machines, part of a citywide rollout to provide cardiovascular screening in all primary care centers.
