Mayor Saša Mujović's Tenure Uncertain Amid Council Vote and City Revitalization Plans

The Podgorica City Assembly voted on the mayor's 2025 annual report, with 55 members present: 24 in favour and 31 against. Opposition parties from the DPS, ES, SEP and the Democratic People's Party (DNP) rejected the report, opening three possible outcomes – the status‑quo with Mujović remaining in office, his resignation if he submits a request that the assembly approves, or a forced removal requiring a unified opposition vote.

Meanwhile, Mayor Saša Mujović announced that the city will intensify work on the Vojislavljevića Boulevard, aiming to finish by the end of the year. The project will run in three shifts despite high summer temperatures, and is part of a broader plan to transform Podgorica’s centre into a pedestrian‑friendly zone with more green space, a renovated main square and upgrades around the TC Ražnatović complex. Mujović acknowledged temporary inconveniences such as dust, noise and traffic disruptions, urging residents to be patient as the works proceed.
