Mayor Sebastian Duterte accuses Marcos administration of targeting Vice President Sara Duterte
Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte, Davao City mayor and national president of PDP‑Laban, said at a party assembly that the Marcos administration is pushing to impeach Vice President Sara Duterte because she poses a “great threat” to their plans for the 2028 presidential election. He criticized the focus on impeachment over issues such as flood‑control and alleged loss of public funds, calling the move political intimidation. Duterte also referenced the International Criminal Court case involving his father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, and urged citizens to resist the administration’s actions. The Marcos government has not responded to his statements.
The remarks were made during the PDP‑Laban national convention in Davao City, where Duterte called for continued resistance and highlighted the party’s federalism agenda.
