Konya hosts ‘Hâne’ Islamic Arts exhibition at historic Tantavi Center

The Albayrak Group launched the 2024 edition of its ‘Hâne’ Islamic Arts exhibition in Konya on 13 July. Organized with the Konya Metropolitan Municipality and the Meram Municipality, the show opened in the restored Tantavi Cultural and Art Center – a 1903 railway freight warehouse that has been converted into a modern cultural venue.

The exhibition, themed around “family and home”, presents a comprehensive collection of Islamic art, including calligraphic hat pieces, tezhip ornaments, digitally created works, illuminated kandils and ceramic‑hat artworks. Albayrak Group’s communication coordinator Esad Sivri said, “‘Hâne’ brings together traditional and contemporary expressions of Islamic art under one roof, offering visitors a holistic experience.” Local officials – Governor İbrahim Akın, Metropolitan Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay, Meram Mayor Mustafa Kavuş and others – attended the opening and highlighted Konya’s cultural heritage.

The exhibition is the latest in a 12‑year series that has previously featured themes such as ‘Adil‑i Mutlak’ and ‘Besmele‑i Şerif’. It runs through early August, inviting the public to explore the city’s artistic legacy within a historic building that exemplifies Konya’s blend of tradition and modernity.
