Jersey Shore Rip Current Warning and Small Craft Advisory

The National Weather Service has issued a moderate‑risk rip current warning for the Jersey Shore, indicating that life‑threatening rip currents are possible in the surf zone. A Small Craft Advisory is also in effect with winds of 10‑20 kt, gusts up to 30 kt and seas of 3‑6 ft, making conditions hazardous for small boats.

Waves are expected to range from 1 to 4 feet and winds will come from the south at 11‑21 mph (gusting to 28 mph). Ocean temperatures will be 72‑81 °F and air temperatures 77‑86 °F. UV index is low. Tidal information for major inlets and bays along the shore is provided. Swimmers are advised to stay out of the water or remain near lifeguard stations.

The advisory will remain in force through Wednesday afternoon, with the high‑surf component lasting until Saturday. Coastal flooding is possible in low‑lying areas, but significant damage to structures is not expected.
