Mazatlán hotel shooting kills two, including suspected Guardia Nacional agent

Two men were shot and killed early Wednesday morning inside a hotel room in the Palos Prietos neighborhood of Mazatlán, Sinaloa. One of the victims, identified as 23-year-old Alfredo “N”, is believed to be a member of the Guardia Nacional.

According to reports, several individuals dressed in black entered the hotel on Avenida Del Mar and stormed the room where the victims were staying. One victim reportedly attempted to reach the hotel reception to seek help before succumbing to his injuries.

Emergency responders and paramedics from the Red Cross confirmed both men were deceased at the scene. Investigators from the State Attorney General's Office collected evidence, including spent shell casings and identification documents, to advance the investigation. The incident occurred despite ongoing security deployments by federal forces, including the Army and Navy, in the Mazatlán tourist zone.
