Mazda adds PS special‑edition Roadster and refreshes Flare Crossover in Japan

Mazda announced a product improvement for its open‑sports car Roadster on 26 June. The update introduces a new special‑edition PS model – “Pure Sport” – equipped with a glass rear‑window soft top, Brénon brakes, Bilstein dampers, RAYS wheels and a tuned exhaust and intake system to enhance in‑cab sound after the introduction of the Phase 3 external‑noise regulation in October. A new “Zinc‑Green Metallic” paint, inspired by zinc‑chromate primer, is also offered. Prices start at ¥2 959 000 for the soft‑top, with the PS trim priced at ¥3 663 000, and sales are scheduled to begin in early September.

A day earlier, Mazda launched a facelift of its compact crossover Flare Crossover. The model receives a refreshed front fascia, a new “Woodland Khaki Metallic” paint, upgraded safety equipment—including an updated dual‑sensor brake‑assist system, front parking sensors, adaptive cruise control with stop‑and‑go, lane‑keep assist and blind‑spot monitoring—and added comfort features such as auto‑folding mirrors, LED side turn lamps and dual‑type‑C USB ports. The facelifted vehicle is priced from ¥1 610 400 and is being sold through Mazda dealerships nationwide.
