Mazda Australia rolls out Next‑Gen CX‑5 campaign with mountaintop music ad

Mazda Australia has launched a national advertising campaign titled “It’s Kind of a Big Deal” to introduce the 2026 Next‑Gen Mazda CX‑5. The centerpiece is a television commercial called “The Mountaintop”, which follows the SUV driving up Mount Wellington in Tasmania while a choir of Mazda designers, engineers and drivers sings about its design, technology, space and driving dynamics.

The campaign, created by Clemenger BBDO with media partner OMD Australia, will run across TV, digital, social, out‑of‑home, radio and retail channels. Mazda says more than 330,000 CX‑5s are already on Australian roads, representing a quarter of its total sales, and positions the new model as a major step‑up in style, space and smart features. Amy Weston of Clemenger BBDO said the ad reflects the “craft and care” behind the vehicle, while Ashlin Moore, Mazda Australia’s National Brand Manager, called the upgrade “a significant step‑up from the previous model”. Mike Napolitano, co‑CEO of Clemenger BBDO, added the work extends the agency’s long‑standing partnership with Mazda.
